Project Introduction
This project is a comprehensive exploration of labor force data from different Canadian provinces, with a specific focus on assisting international students, new immigrants, and recent graduates who may be uncertain about their future career paths. The interactive webpage is a valuable resource, featuring visualizations that offer insights into the primary industries and their proportions in each province.
In addition to the visualizations, the project includes a timeline that outlines the history of the Canadian labor movement. This historical context is crucial for individuals seeking a better understanding of their legitimate work rights. Complemented by a sidecar mapping, data visualizations created with Datawrapper, and references, the project ensures a reliable information base. The major data is derived from the Labor Force Survey provided by Statistics Canada in December 2022 and Canada.ca.
As a member of the international student community, my goal is to contribute to the welfare of fellow international students. This initiative exemplifies civic engagement, striving to facilitate a faster and more intuitive understanding of Canada for those unfamiliar.
